Reline 1m of 100mm PVC sewer line that was filled with gravel due to a serious break.
Benefits
This sewer line wasn’t 3 months old, and ran under a brand new house that had only recently become occupied by the new owners. The PVC section causing all the problems was completely broken away leaving over half a metre of void space with no pipe. This caused gravel to fill the line and undermine the house slab. Nuflow was able to reline without any excavation and disruption and have the sewer unblocked and working properly in less than a days work. Meanwhile the plumber who saved himself a lot of stress, was off on another job making money.
The sewer line of this brand new house was completely broken, allowing gravel to enter the pipe, undermining the integrity of the slab.
The Sewer Reline
After carrying out the initial CCTV inspection, it was clear that we would need to spend some time removing some gravel from the line. There were 8 bends and 5 junctions to navigate in the 30m between our two access points. Eventually, after cleaning the line, we were able to locate the problem as broken section of pipe approximately 11m from an inspection opening. We custom made a liner for this job while on site and inserted it carefully using our drain cameras. Two hours later the liner was cured and the bladder removed to reveal a good job done.
Alternatives
An alternative to the relining of this project would have been to excavate the area and replace the pipe. This would have involved removing the flooring surfaces and digging up the concrete house slab to access the pipe which was nearly a metre deep. These works would have caused major disruption to the occupants of this brand new house and may have resulted in significant reinstatements costs. The plumber would have spent his time repairing this instead of finishing what it was he was already working on.
