Prevent pipe corrosion and leaks

Redline - Internal Pipe Coating

Improve_water_quality_and_life_of_pipes.jpgUsing the latest in epoxy lining technology designed for pressure systems from 12 to 300mm, Redline is a simple and highly effective cure-in-place pipe restoration techniques that completely coast the inside of pipes. You will never have to worry about pin-hole leaks, poor water pressure, unscheduled shut-downs, pipe corrosion or contaminants leaching into water supplies again.

Unlike conventional repair and replace options that can often cause a whole site to be shut down whilst work is performed, this process can be managed to ensure minimum disruption to operations. Redline has been used successfully in a variety of applications including hospitals, high rise apartments, factories, fire suppression systems and homes.

Applications

Applicable for use in host pipes which are designed to hold pressure, consisting of any aterial including metal, iron, steel, plastic, concrete, and fiberglass in diameters ranging from 12mm to 300mm. For use in the following pipe systems, in any infrastructure, in every market sector from residential, commercial or industrial hot and cold drinking water lines to air and water systems, heating and cooling lines.  We can Redline 1 to 1000 metres.

Potable

Nuflow is proud to offer drinking water epoxy pipe lining technology. This simple but highly effective cured in place pipe restoration system completely coats the inside of your copper or galvanized pipe.  The process prevents future leaks and protects your water from lead and other contaminates leached from your piping.

Redline can also be used in the following systems:

AIR

FIRE SUPPRESSION

 GAS

HVAC

Nuflow now restores ac systems that use air, and hot and cold water, using patented epoxy coatings. Applicable for use in host pipes consisting of metal, iron, steel, plastic, concrete, and fiberglass in diameters ranging from 12mm to 300mm.

How it Works

In drinking water lines, epoxy is blown into cleaned pipes, forming a safe, evenly coated barrier between metal pipe walls and water. Epoxy lining is a permanent, preventative solution to leaks and breaks, blockages, prevents corrosion, water damage and mold growth, and maintains water flow. The epoxy acts as a permanent barrier to heavy metals leaching in drinking water lines from metal piping systems.

Pipe System Diagnosis. The project begins with mapping the internal plumbing system or pipelines. A plan is implemented to minimize disruption and afford the most efficient timeline for work completion. The piping system is inspected for integrity and spot repairs are made to excessively worn joints and fittings. Temporary bypass water piping may be installed. The system to be repaired is then drained and air-dried. After pressure testing for leaks, the pipes are prepared for cleaning.

Pipe Cleaning. Pipes are dried with high volumes of heated air. A safe abrading agent is blown through the pipe system, removing rust, scales and corrosion by-products that have built up over time. These particles are collected in a holding unit for later disposal. Air is applied once again to remove fine particles leaving a pipe that has opened back to full working diameter, is clean and ready to reline.

Epoxy Lining. Optimal internal pipe surface temperature is created prior to epoxy coating. Another air pressure leak test is performed. Conditioned air is then introduced into the pipe to uniformly distribute the epoxy coating throughout the pipe segment. Following the coating application, conditioned and controlled air flows through the piping to facilitate epoxy curing.

System Reassembly and Final Inspection. After the epoxy coating cures, valves and couplings are refitted. A final leak test and inspection confirms lining integrity. Water quality, volume, and flow tests confirm system functionality.

Benefits

Safe and Durable. Nuflow’s epoxy is UL certified safe to NSF/ANSI Standard 61. The epoxy was developed and patented by the U.S. Navy and has been successfully used by Nuflow technicians since the mid-1980s for the U.S. government and in domestic, commercial, industrial, and other applications. Testing engineers estimate the life expectancy of the epoxy is roughly 100 years.

Cost Effective. Pipe lining is as much as 50 percent less expensive than traditional pipe replacement costs such as repiping. Lining is a non-invasive process, so there is no destruction to buildings, hardscape or landscape. Reconstruction costs for repiping are as much as 60 percent of direct pipe repair costs and epoxy lining eliminates the need for reconstruction.

Minimal Downtime. The epoxy lining process takes a fraction of the time of traditional repipe methods. For example, a repiping job that would normally take a full 6 to 8 weeks can take as little as two weekends (or 4 days) for Nuflow to complete.

Minimal Disruption and No Occupant Displacement. Nuflow’s pipe restoration process is quick, quiet, non-invasive, and requires no displacement of a building’s occupants. When needed, temporary bypass water systems are quickly installed to provide uninterrupted water service so that occupants, businesses, and clientele may continue business as usual in an undisturbed environment.

Versatility in Applications. Epoxy lining can be performed in any metal pipe in any building, structure, or environment, above or below ground. Lining has been installed by Nuflow technicians in the piping systems for hotels, high-rise condominiums, hospitals, restaurants, airports, schools, museums, U.S. Navy ships and many other commercial and industrial companies.  The solution is available for potable water pipes as well as hot water recirculation systems, fire sprinkler and fire suppression systems, chiller lines and HVAC systems.

Epoxy Lining as an Eco Trend

Lining is an eco-friendly solution that creates no waste for landfills or for recycling and generates no carbon emissions during manufacturing. Lining prevents toxic heavy metals from leaching into drinking water and prevents leaks and breaks in pipe systems that contribute to water pollution and cause billions of dollars annually in water damage. Revolutionary, green technologies such as epoxy lining have replaced temporary, outdated pipe replacement methods as an eco-friendly trend that efficiently and economically controls pollution of our water sources and helps conserve valuable water supplies.
